It's Friday! And what better way to launch the blog platform on It's Danielle Marie, than with a little introductory flashback post?
Nostalgia is a bittersweet emotion, but it's universal. A lot has been happening in our world lately. I think flashbacks can be a great way to calm ourselves, and remind us of who we are, and how far we've come. You HAVE to give yourself a little pat on the back every once in a while; everyone deserves to be recognized. Even you. I think, ultimately, looking back gives us a sense of foundation, and also, hope for what the future may bring. I challenge you to pick up all those old family albums sitting on those dusty shelves. Take a look at the person you were then, and then look at the person you are now. Has anything changed? Do you find that you share a lot in common with your 'kid' self?
Maybe it's because YOU are the result of all those unique experiences that you had growing up. Your true essence has been living within you all along. At least, that's the way I see it. I think a part of growing up is figuring out how to embrace and respect our true essence. As I look back at all these pictures of myself when I was younger, I realize I was everything that I still am today. It's crazy to think that it's possible to recognize a person's character and a person's calling so early on.
For those reasons, I'm going to share a few flashbacks with you so that you can get a better sense of who I am, and what I'm all about. But under one condition... that you promise me you'll jam to some Backstreet Boys. Crush hard on Nick Carter, anyone? Oh, and please pour yourself a glass of Rosé in the name of the weekend. Cheers and Happy Flashback Friday!
